PetroCare®

Prevent the formation of Hydrogen Sulphide which is created by Sulfate-reducing bacteria forming in oil pipelines, tanks and reservoirs, and lead to emissions of Hydrogen sulfide H₂S. This not only exposes workers to toxic gas, it also has negative effects on the quality of the oil and can lead to corrosion.

Prevent the formation of Hydrogen Sulphide by using Yara’s carefully developed specific range of environmentally friendly nitrate-based biodegradable chemicals.  These chemicals are used in well construction and reservoir-treating operations around the world to prevent the formation of H₂S. The PetroCare^® solution includes  a package of product and services including on-site assessment, storage equipment, dosage strategy for minimal dosing requirements.
 
This solution, marketed under the name PetroCare^®, can also have microbial enhanced oil recovery effects.

PetroCare^® has been chosen by some of the oil majors for their fields in the North Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, off the coast of West Africa and in the Russian Far East. Results from these fields show near-elimination of H₂S emissions.
