Crop quality is commonly defined as

  • The appearance (size and colour), without a proper crop nutrition most crops will fail to meet the market requirement.
  • Its food processing quality, like a sufficient level of protein for bread wheat. A well balanced nutrition will support required crop quality.
  • The nutritional value of the crop produce for human diet. Crops are the basis of the food chain and via the diet the natural pathway of minerals into human and animal bodies. A crop that has received a balanced nutrition will provide sufficient minerals for the entire food chain.
